Los abajo firmantes manifestamos nuestra oposición a la inclusión del supuesto " Síndrome de Alienación Parental ", ahora re-nombrado como "Desorden de Alienación Parental", en el DSM 5, ya que está comprobado que no tiene sustento científico que lo avale, y ya ha sido rechazado por la mayoría de Asociaciones Profesionales en todo el mundo, Tribunales Superiores de Justicia y también por varias organizaciones de lucha por los DDHH, como Amnesty International. El supuesto SAP sostiene que los niños y las niñas podrían ser manipulados e inducidos a relatar sucesos que nunca ocurrieron o crear animosidad, -hasta el hecho de negarse a mantener contacto-, en contra de uno de los progenitores, acusándose de ello en abrumadora mayoría a las madres. De esta manera se intenta invalidar la palabra de la madre y, en especial, los dichos del niño-niña, prueba fundamental en los juicios por abuso sexual. Nosotras y nosotros seguimos afirmando que "los niños y las niñas no mienten" en estos temas, y los grupos interesados en demostrar lo contrario son los autores de la propuesta que ha llegado a la APA a la que nos estamos oponiendo. Por la premisa fundamental de creer a las víctimas reafirmamos nuestro compromiso. No a la inclusión de lo que es solo una construcción ideológica, el falso SAP o DAP en el DSM 5 - - - - - - - - - - -
We the undersigned express our opposition to the inclusion of the so-called PAS “parental alienation syndrome” (PAS) (or SAP according to its acronym in Spanish), now renamed as “parental alienation disorder, in the DSM-V. It has already been established that it has no scientific foundation for its claims, and has been routinely rejected world-wide by mental health professional associations, and high courts, as admissible in the courtroom and also rejected by several organizations fighting for Human Rights such as Amnesty International.
The alleged SAP or PAS, nonetheless, argues that children could be induced to describe events that never occur or to create animosity against one of the parents, to the point of refusing to see one of the parents. Therefore it attacks the credibility of one of the parents, in an overwhelming majority, mothers; thus invalidating mothers’ testimonies as well as undermining the testimony of children, which is the primary evidence in trials for sexual abuse...
We continue to affirm that “children do not lie” on these issues, and those groups interested in proving the opposite are the authors of the proposal that has been presented to the APA, a proposal we firmly oppose.
We reaffirm our commitment, based on the fundamental premise, “we believe what victims say” – No to the inclusion in DSM-V, of what is only an ideological construction, the fallacious PAS or PAD.
